A note from the creator...

Hi guys!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my website!

I first found my love of ACEOs/ATCs when I found Annika Landberg on YouTube. Her art style is so cute, and I loved the idea that you could create complete and detailed pieces of art without having to commit to a huge space.

I tried my first few ACEOs in the autumn of 2017, and that’s when my addiction began.

Once I made my peace with the limited space, I LOVED that I could create art pieces quickly and easily. I loved the sense of achievement seeing my little stack of cards grow. I felt so free knowing I could sit down to create, and have something I would be proud of in an hour or less.

By March 2018, I was building up footage for my YouTube at an alarming rate, and then it occurred to me, why not make this a daily challenge?!

And so, #ACEOApril was born!

I started by running the idea past my friends in the Art Addicts Alliance. As with all exciting new ideas, I was scared that no-one would want to join in. Thankfully, both Dory of Dory’s Stories and Hetty from Hetty’s Art said they’d join me.

I was so excited! Without them having faith in my idea, I don’t think I would have dared to start this new challenge, so right now, I want to say thank you to both of them. They’ve been amazing friends during my art journey and I feel very blessed to have them.

After I knew I had some friends on board, I knew I needed to get the message out there, so I created the turquoise challenge description, and uploaded it to Instagram. I later created the now (in it’s own little way) famous logo… and the rest is history.

At last count, over 50 artists have participated in Year 1 of the challenge, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Not everyone could post every day, but so many people tried, and that’s the important thing.

I never could have dreamed that my little idea would have blown up so much, and so quickly, and even better, I’ve made some amazing new friends along the way.

So thank you, to everyone who posted, who shared, who made this a success. You’re all fantastic!

I have so many plans for #ACEOApril going forward. It’s a way off, but I’m hoping that 2019 is going to be even better!

Thanks again guys!

Claire
